Profile – Evgueniy Kirillov, Technology Director AllPetNaturals.com
AllPetNaturals: I have never met Evgueniy. I have never met his wife nor his dog or had a meal at his home. We’ve never gone to the pub, never watched a football match and I don’t have a clue where he lives in the city of Vladivostok yet we are best friends.
Evgueniy lives about 3,000 or more miles away from the Pacific Northwest on the beautiful east coast of Russia in a thriving port city that was famous during the cold war for its gigantic Russian naval base. I came to meet him online in January and we struck up a friendship; like in the old days when we had pen pals. Evgueniy is my pen pal today except the speed of the internet makes conversations instantaneous and alive and it can be personal too, with jokes and laughter and big smiles. His story about our relationship is a good read and I hope you enjoy it.
AllPetNaturals: Its rather unusual since you live 1000s of miles away in Vladivostok, Russia but you are the IT Director for Brilliant Health. Its a cool story how did this come about? And what is about the e-commerce world for animals that you seem to be attracted too?
Evgueniy: It’s an unbelievable story, but it is very simple. I looked for a job on Craigslist in Vancouver area and came across an ad dated 27 Jan. which said – “Wanted – Developer that can de-bug my E-store which uses PrestaShop (Vancouver)”.

My skills as a web-site developer allowed me to take that offer. I sent my answer to the message and got a reply. The man, Bill by name, asked me if I would make some changes to the access file. I did it quickly and got some more work to do.
At the present time we have already done huge work for allpetnaturals.com. Also, we have created a web-site for Brilliant Health and re-designed the one for allpetnaturals’ blog. We work on improvements to our web-sites over and over again every day.
It is an amazingly interesting job. And it attracts me because the theme of the web-sites is closely related to pets and their health. I love pets and I own a dog that got ill. (He suffers from allergies).
William Greenbaum, Founder and President of Brilliant Health, is an outstanding person. All these projects would be impossible without him. He is a very talented, patient, kind man, and he is also an excellent businessman.
AllPetNaturals: Can you tell us a little about yourself and your career?
Evgueniy: I’m 41 years old, and I live in Vladivostok situated in the Russian far east. My career as a web-designer started in January 2007. Before that I worked as a musician, sound engineer and sound producer.
I have always loved all the technical things such as computers, synthesizers, sound mixers and so on. I quit my musical career as senior sound engineer at a radio station.
At the moment I’m a web-designer, a web developer and a geek. I love my work and enjoy making web-sites and everything related to them. Also, I love solving difficult technical problems as I enjoy discovering solutions to things.
AllPetNaturals: You have an amazing dog. How old is he? What type of dog? And does he run the house? What’s his personality like?
Evgueniy: Yes, he is an amazing dog. His name is Valse; it means “WALTZ” in Russian. He is a 5 year old East-European Shepherd. He is like a German Alsatian, but black-gray color and a bit bigger.
We got Valse as a present from one of our friends. Our dog is very smart. He understands what humans say. His eyes look like those of a real person and I believe that there’s a human soul hidden in his dog’s body. Yes. Valse runs the house. He can easily get involved in all the family activities, such as cooking, cleaning, watching TV, discussing and arguing. He does it in his own way though.
Our dog likes to ride in a car. When in a car, he barks loudly at bikers and policemen. Riding in a car is his favorite pastime. He likes it so much, even better than eating.
AllPetNaturals: Tell us little about your business. What you do now? What are your services? Can you tell us more about all the wonderful clients you seem to have all over the world?
Evgueniy: I can’t say now that it is really a business. Web-designing was just my hobby in the past, but when I stopped my musical career, I started to make web-sites to earn a living.
By the present time I have done many projects. Some of them were for American and Canadian companies. At the moment I mainly work on Brilliant Health projects. Also, I have made a couple of web-sites for Russian companies. Besides, I’m planning to start working with another Canadian design agency, whose name is Three Samurai, this year.
My services are to solve people’s problems. Also, I can make a graphic design for page layouts, convert from PSD to HTML/CSS, integrate web-sites into any CMS. (WordPress, Drupal, MODx, Prestashop, Magento and so on.) Also, I’m able to solve a lot of problems that may arise on web-sites and work with PHP, Javascript and MySQL.
