Dogs Cushing’s Disease symptoms include, but are not limited to, excessive thirst, frequent urination, increased appetite, loss of muscle mass, lethargy, changes in coat, excess panting and more. Another indirect symptom to consider sometimes is the disappearance of previous health problems like inflammatory arthritis or less trouble with allergies. These things may actually improve due to the effect of the heavy amounts of cortisone being produced by the dog’s body. Although, the idea of having other ailments disappear may sound good, it is important to note that excess cortisol, left unchecked, can still cause greater problems than those it might correct, including suppression of the immune system leading to development of infections, hypothyroidism, diabetes, kidney failure and other issues.

I have had very good success with taking tip cuttings from the slippery elms on my property. I can remove the inner bark from these cuttings and not harm my trees.

I am planting a hedgerow of slippery elm from my harvested seeds next year so I can harvest the inner bark in a sustainable manner.

This stuff has worked wonders on my goats/chickens. I love it!

I am so glad that you posted this! I have been feeding this to my 2 chihuahuas and I cannot believe that they allow some of these ingredients in any type of food! I think I am going to start making my own treats. Thank you again.

Really nice post, I am always keen to see people promote a healthy diet first. It's also good to note that tear stains can be caused by teething, parasites and genetics. With some dog breeds it's just something you have to either live with or manage in some way with a product. I'd suggest something like Angle's Eyes to help with this. Mr. Greenbaun, how do you feel about that product for treating this, is it something you would recommend? Thanks!

This is great info for people just learning about the benefits of Holistic Healing. Most people don’t seem to realize that the allergies their pets have are due to the food they feed and the products they are using. Instead of removing the culprit they end up buying something else off the shelf and make things worst.

Hi I like this post. I think it also depends on what you give them and whether or not you have used it. Although a lot of human stuff will work on dogs I sure wouldn’t want to experiment on them.
